Round 5 January 16th 2012 - Rocklands v Mulbarton
Rocklands made heavy weather with the bat as they spluttered their way to 118 at the end of the eighth over, bogged down by tight bowling and fielding from Mulbarton. It was only the last four overs, helped by the power play, that gave the innings any real impetus as they added a further 38 runs to post a respectable and defendable 154.
Mulbarton seemed to feel that this total was well within their reach as they demonstrated little urgency at the beginning of their reply. But with 25 still needed off the last four overs, albeit including one of power play, they had rather piled unnecessary pressure on themselves as Rocklands turned the screw. The last over saw Mulbarton still 11 light of the target but, despite their best efforts, they managed only 8 leaving Rocklands worthy winners of this exciting game by two runs.
